April lab update

It has been a very busy, but productive month.

  • Lekki has pulled finalized her proposal for a Scientific Statement from the American Heart Association the role of caregiver feeding strategies in cardiovascular disease prevention. She is very excited about this!
  • Shabnam has drafted the first paper from the “Hummus for Health!” study looking at how very young children (1-2 years old) explore a novel food.
  • We started coding the first videos from our BOPP subproject of BITS – we are working inter-rater reliability and, soon, should be able to establish the stability of behaviors related to how an infant reacts to social stimulation across early infancy (4-6 months).
  • We completed a bunch of analyses for the CHARGE consortium which will contribute to large meta-analyses on the interactions between dietary intake and genes on cardiovascular risk.
